Bishopsgate has recently implemented Fleet Behaviour software to maximise the efficiency of its vehicles and achieve a sustainable reduction in the environmental impact of its fleet.
As well as providing Bishopsgate’s customers with the confidence that their deliveries are in safe hands, the system gives drivers, driver trainers and operational staff visibility of both vehicle and driver performance allowing the company to promote positive driving styles, with the aim of reducing fuel costs, maintaining road safety and providing its customers with peace-of-mind that standards are being monitored.
Results are shared with drivers to encourage them to drive more economically to save fuel and reduce running costs. Accurate statistics enable any problem areas to be addressed and improvements made. It is hoped the investment will result in the more efficient movement of freight, whilst reducing emissions and the company’s and its customer’s impact on the environment.
Accurate information relating to KPI’s set give an indication of performance allowing comparisons to be drawn; idling, speeding, harsh acceleration and deceleration, engine revolutions, accelerator pedal position and fuel economy are all being recorded and collated for each driver and tractor unit for analysis.
Scoring matrices are configured for each driver and team allowing the easy identification of underperforming units and drivers who may need further training.
By geo-locating incidents we can see a detailed history of an event by truck and the corresponding route of where an event has taken place allowing us to build a full picture of events.
We’re ahead of the times too when it comes to mobile technology. Drivers have access to their own scorecard and that of a peer group on their mobile device and are incentivised to make ongoing improvements.
