Over the past few years Bishopsgate have taken on a European intern to help develop its European business. We benefit from good quality students who come over full of enthusiasm and drive and they get credits for their degrees, learn the language, help us by doing meaningful tasks and hopefully have a great experience in the UK too
Razvan, pictured on the right, joined us in the summer from Spain. He’s studying for a degree in logistics and wanted a real hands on and comprehensive understanding on how specialist installations and final mile delivery companies work in practice.
Bishopsgate was (his words not mine) his first choice logistics company after researching the web and seeing how Bishopsgate links into Spain through TENESO Europe SE and into the broader European community too.
It certainly helped us recruit Razvan knowing that his father owns and runs a logistics company in Spain so ‘logistics’ was clearly in his blood and that, with his Class 1 driving licence, he understands the real challenges that we face on the road too. But we wanted to know what Razvan thought about his internship now that his time with us is coming to an end.
“In this short journey of mine, mainly I had to adapt to the English culture in a very short time – for me this was the real challenge and I have to admit it wasn’t that easy in the very beginning; but to be honest, I’ve met some strong characters among my short instance colleagues that greatly helped me to adapt and quickly learn my tasks so I can be able to help the company in its daily routine by properly doing my duties and being open and prepared to learn new things about this job.
What I’ve enjoyed the most in this company was the level of organization in every aspect. I think that’s the main thing that differentiates a successful company from an average one. And of course, this thing can’t be achieved without being surrounded of prepared people with character that loves their jobs and knows the meaning of discipline. So I can’t do another thing but to respect and admire the company and its employees that have been a part of my life for the past three months.
Obviously, there’s no such thing as easy beginning, but with patience, determination and desire, everything can and shall be achieved. For me this was only the commencement of my professional journey, and I have to be very grateful for having the luck to form myself in such a company that helped me to evolve both professionally and personally”
Razvan finishes with us in the office on the 6th December and naturally everyone at Bishopsgate wishes him well for the future.
