While many of us were no doubt slouching around enjoying a well-earned rest from the travails of work, our very own Paul Hing, who works in our Finance team, decided to dress up as a bear! Why, you may ask, would he want to do that? This time there was a good reason as Paul was helping to raise the awareness of his wife’s athletics group ‘Ministars Athletics’ at The Maidenhead half marathon.
Ministars is designed to develop children’s athletic skills from an early age using fun and play based activities to develop fitness, technique and primary abilities. The aim is to progress a child to the point that, if interested, they can continue in athletics from age 9 and beyond. The Sessions are aimed to motivate children to develop flexibility, balance, speed and reaction times as well as throwing skills and hand/eye co-ordination.
We asked Paul how he did and he quickly explained that we must be mad thinking he ran a half marathon in that suit. He added, “I managed a half mile and nearly died of exhaustion”
Paul is planning to run the London marathon next year in more traditional attire. Watch this space for more details
