Data security risk management experts ADISA make the first award of their security certification for a logistics service provider.
24 March 2014 – The Asset Disposal and Information Security Alliance (ADISA) has announced that it has awarded UK logistics operator, Bishopsgate, a ‘Pass with Distinction’ against their recently released Logistics Standard.
This award makes Bishopsgate the first certified company to hold this accreditation and offers those seeking logistical services confidence that their service as passed independent testing.
Founder of ADISA, Steve Mellings said, “Where data bearing assets are concerned the logistics process is perhaps the greatest point of potential vulnerability. Our Standard is based on our main ITAD logistics module, so was fairly easy to put together and looks to measure how a logistics service provider mitigates that risk through process control and practical
countermeasures. The greatest challenge has been working on the audit process and that took 12 months to develop. It ensures that the checks being made are continuous and random to ensure compliance throughout operations.
“We are delighted by the commitment Bishopsgate have shown, not only by making some subtle business changes but also by adopting several process change in their hub network.”
The Standard includes assessment of the business as a whole, vehicle security, inventory control and management of the hubbing process. It also allows for flexibility within the service to meet budget constraints and well as security considerations.
John Winter Sales Director at Bishopsgate adds, “As we’ve grown, we haven’t forgotten how important service is and we maintain a culture of excellence, friendliness and support for each one of our customers. By committing to ADISA Certification we hope to offer our customers reassurance that our service is the best in the industry”.
