The Swindon U15 Fatboys had a great start to the 2013-14 season with the Sevens A team “The Fatboys” winning the Plate and the B team “The Skinny Cows” winning the shield at the Annual Sevens Festival in September.
The Fifteen a side season saw the Fatboys string together an 9 match unbeaten run before Christmas, scoring over 40 points in 3 of their matches. Unfortunately the poor spell of weather after Christmas saw only one game played in 10 weeks, however wins over Melksham and Supermarine in the Cup competition saw the Fatboys back on track in March.
A strong finish to the season is expected with the Fatboys off to Belgium, Holland and Germany for their tour in April followed by a month of Sevens competitions in May.
Next season promises to be an exciting one with England U18 Chair of Selectors & Coach John “Topper” Brown taking over as Head Coach of the Fatboys, Topper intends to take the team to the next level. Watch this space for an update
