In a dream come true for ice cream lovers everywhere, Carpigiani UK is offering a course in how to make the perfect gelato. The aptly-named Gelato University held its first ‘lecture’ at its new London showroom today to students eager to learn the secret of delicious Italian ice cream. The new university is based at Bishopsgate in Premier Park, London. Carpigiani, are the leading global manufacturer of ice cream making machines and have partnered with Bishopsgate to help meet all their logistics needs including the storage, transport and two man white glove delivery needs.
Carpigiani Sales Director, Scott Duncan said, “The people who come here are people who want a career change. Our first meeting today has seen a pharmacist and people who work in the city who are ready to drop what they’re doing and open a new chapter in their lives. ”
David Leslie, Bishopsgate London Depot Manager said, “Two weeks ago it was a shell. But the Carpigiani guys have been great to work with and we have been able to demonstrate to them our stair walker skills (The University is upstairs) together with our flexible attitude to problem solving. I think it looks fabulous and naturally I hope that the investment works for them” David adds, “In truth, I think the whole team are looking forward to the free ice cream tasting after the students leave. It remains one of life’s great pleasures, especially as the British Summer has recently arrived”
John Winter, Bishopsgate Sales Director, said, “This really has been a collaborative partnership from a seed of an idea way back in the autumn last year. We always say that we are a ‘can do’ company and this new facility reflects Bishopsgate’s on-going commitment to investment and expansion with its key customers.”
