The TENESO Europe SE team were welcomed to Switzerland at their recent Sales & Operations Meeting by Christoph Schweizer, XEROX’s Logistics Manager for Switzerland
As Marco Marmo, pictured, became CEO of POLYSYS back in 1st January 2018, Christoph passed on his congratulations having worked with him for many years and passed him a congratulation card, with best wishes for a successful start in the new job. Attached to this kind message was a ‘voucher’ for a free “Alphorn-Session” to be held at a day and time of his own choice. What a privilege to receive this kind of gift from a customer!
The Alpine Horn or Alphorn had its origins in central Europe, primarily in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Northern Italy. It is a natural conical (cone-shaped) horn made of wood, and is played with a cup shaped mouthpiece, similar to trumpet, french horn, or trombone. For many years, it was used as a communication device (like an antique cell phone) in the mountainous regions of Europe. The long, conical shape of the instrument has the ability to be heard over a distance of two to five miles, especially in areas with natural echoes, such as mountains and valleys.
After a very careful evaluation on what event to use this voucher, I came to the decision, that the perfect fit could be the multicultural TENESO Europe SE audience. And what an experience it was: beautiful sunshine, a lovely garden high on the hill with panoramic views, a Swiss chalet in the background, tasty Apéro with a Glacier-White Wine, together with the warm and soothing Alphorn sounds in the background. Our thanks to Christoph for making our evening so special
But who is the man taking the photograph?
