Rarely has the political or commercial environment been more uncertain or unpredictable than it is now, with Brexit, trade wars and sanctions only some of the many issues causing havoc in today’s markets. So, what better time to be at London International Shipping Week 2019, where the thousands of visiting attendees will descend upon London to examine these issues and try to turn the chaos into opportunities.
LISW19 is the fourth iteration of this hugely prestigious and well-attended biennial event, having grown each time since it was launched in September 2013. And it will be the biggest and best yet. Taking place across London, and featuring a number of regional events, LISW highlights London’s key role on the international maritime stage, and the strength and breadth of the UK’s maritime offering. The Maritime Industries partnerships with the UK Government, led by the Department for Transport, ensure substantial ministerial and official involvement throughout the week.
Bishopsgate are proud to have been invited to support such an important event and be among the sectors represented that includes charterers, shipowners, ship managers, shipbrokers, lawyers, cargo owners and freight forwarders, regulators, bankers, ship and bunker suppliers, commodity traders, port authorities and operators, insurers, maritime service providers, ship builders, engineering and technology companies.
With around 200 official events scheduled to take place at some of the most iconic venues in Britain’s capital, the estimated 20,000 visitors have come to London to do business!
